Using long gliding massage strokes, kneading and rolling, I work to alleviate stress and calm the spirit. Light stretching may be included in the session to assist with better range of motion and bring more flexibility to stiff joints.Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
Deep tissue massages use many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massages, but the pressure will generally be more intense. Deep tissue massage releases chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the grain of muscles, tendons and fascia. It's also called “deep tissue” because it focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. Especially good for chronic pain patterns, deep tissue is applied to your comfort level and may also include Myofascial Stretching and releases. This involves gentle traction, pressure and positioning your joints in different angles that create a natural stretch. Along with encouraging muscle spasms to relax, it also helps break up adhesions in the affected fascia. Myofascial treatments are started without the use of lotion or oils and then will progress into the deep tissue protocol.
Originally regarded as a healing art, traditional Thai massage includes influences from both Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine.
Unlike typical Western-type massages, it doesn’t involve lying on a massage table while a massage therapist applies oil to your body and kneads your muscles and pressure points.
Instead, you lie fully clothed on a mat on the ground while a practitioner uses stretching, pulling, and rocking techniques to relieve tension, promote relaxation, and improve flexibility and circulation.
Sometimes referred to as assisted yoga, Thai massage is focused on improving the flow of energy throughout your body. If the client prefers, Thai massage can also be done on a massage table.
Shamanism and Reiki are two distinct paths of healing that contribute to personal and collective empowerment and well-being. A Shamanic Reiki practitioner is a bridge between these modalities. Reiki is defined as “Universal Life Force Energy”; the living, loving, light of Creation energy itself. The practitioner/client experience with Reiki invites higher vibrational wisdom to nourish health and wholeness and to inform the body of life. In general it is cathartic, relaxing and supports the shifting of outmoded perspectives so that the natural repair and recovery process can unfold for the client on any and all levels it is needed. Reiki is an excellent adjunct to other modalities that are helping one through healing journeys and life transitions. Shamanic Reiki uses nature as it’s guide and ally to assist in the healing process. Each aspect of nature whether plant species, weather pattern, rock formation etc. possesses unique energetic characteristics, wisdom, sentience, purpose in the world and spiritual mission. All are engaged in planetary evolution in their individual ways, and some have particular purposes in working with humanity. Through a personal relationships to the nature spirits and shamanic intervention, I facilitate my client's personal capacity to generate profound changes in their own energetic makeup and conscious awareness. It is as if all the perfection of the natural form, elemental and spiritual aspects are transposed and infused onto the client’s form, energy field and spirit, thus creating a template that is in closer alignment with the client’s own divine nature and energetic blueprint. One doesn’t need to be sensitive to inner seeing or hearing, or intellectually knowledgeable about plants or nature, to receive the healing gifts offered through Shamanic Reiki Healing. It is only necessary to come to the work with an open heart and a desire to more closely embrace one’s own perfection.
